fiat punto 2000 cluster problams

Hi im trying to adjust the mileage on a punto 2000. The cluster thats in it is a magneti marelli with a 95040 chip. Ive been trying allsorts to read it but it just says failure by reading. Ive tryed removeing the chip and reading ive tryed it on the board and ive even tryed the sw13 cable all with no joy at all i also tryed doing the cluster through can and when it reads it through the digi the old klm just come up with ?????????. Is there anything else i can try thanks for any help.

Hi seat hows it going. Yes im useing port 4 as i said i was trying everything but it just wouldnt go. Im thinking it could be a problam with the cluster. Ive just got hold of the same cluster to make sure its not my machine and its working fine. What i have noticed is that when i power up the original only the airbag and mileage light up but when i power up the loan cluster everything lights up ie fuel oil and so on. So im thinking there is a problam with the cluster do you have any idea,s thanks and seat how come you keep getting a new username cheers

ive had the chip of but it still wont read it. would it be possible to get another chip save the dump from the loan chip and then program the new chip with the dump or is there any immobiliser built into them.
