Bannybasher is right, EEPROM must be removed.

the job itself isn't complicated, but the type of vehicles requires so much attention in details.

Actually, the eeprom does not have to be removed.
Quite straightforward job as the steering wheel tilts, just be careful replacing the screws on the cowl.

What do you mean that the steering wheel tilts. I am in South Africa and will be doing my first 430, I have the prescribed way of doing but was wondering what was the easiest way around all the snags

If the car has a F1 gearbox, ie. not a manual, then the km's are also stored inthe ECU - Ferrai dealers will look for this and find it very easily with ther diagnostic machine.
