mario12377 New member Joined: 25 Aug 2008 Posts: 7	Posted: Fri Aug 29, 2008 9:23 pm    Post subject: 2007 yaris 9901 miles No one bothers to reply, i checked the rest of the forum and it seems like its the same on all the branches, people ask for help but no one helps, oh well.....i was able to get the dash to boot by letting the first bite be '80'( its or it seems to be the code needed to let the cpu the eeprom is present) once that was done the dashboard booted ..rpm odometer gas gage works,,,,just to make sure i changed the byte to something different(tried 50 60 ff 00 dd ee 8d) and none allowed the dash to boot, the gages would not work(remember there is no cable coming from the trany but only a square wave signal...a pulse if you prefer) they would just sit as if they have no power, completely different behavior from my honda(just the odometer would stop working but not the other gages) once the dash booted (by using the fist byte as 80 once again) everything worked but the odometer wich continues to be blank....looking at the way the eeprom from a toyota corolla i noticed that info started only at the 0060 byte with a 66 to informed the cpu that data would be ready to exchange and e8f3 to let the cpu know its ok to write and read(interesting this was because if you remove this bytes you can go for a trip in which everything works but when you turn the engine off and then back on the mileage remains as if i never moved the car because nothing was written to the eeprom..i started with 9901 miles when i finished the trip and before i turn my engine off it read 9967 but as soon as i turn the engine off and then back on i was back at 9901)anyway i found a couple of interesting things like one of the lines determines what size your tires are if you change that like you will be going 50 mph abd reading(displaying)70 or viceversa you could be going 50 and displaying 30 (or any number in between depending on the values you use) Anyways, enjoy the file its set to mph, tires 205/45/17 (which i use)and 9901 miles because i figured if someone need this file he or she must have put about that many miles since its a 2007. One more thing...i used an eprom programmer from eetools the chipmax2 a family of the topmax which i use at work wich is very expensive about $800 U.S. and not for automobile use but the file is in standard format so you should be able to use it with digi -consultant programmer. i made my own adapter and i added some photos for anybody who may be interested (the adapter cost me 20 cents, and its a 8 pin socket and a foot of ribbon cable from an old hard drive i replaced) Good luck and have fun exploring. the server will not allow me to load all of the photos due to size but if anybody even wants them email me for the rar file. so i am loading only the file itself for the eepro

mario12377 New member Joined: 25 Aug 2008 Posts: 7	Posted: Sat Aug 30, 2008 5:27 am    Post subject: pins are not rotated You are wrong the dash uses a s93c56bd made by seiko and it uses the normal pinout as pin 7 on the chip in NC i reprogramed this chip already more than 20 times and i am 100% sure of what i am saying, this is the California 4 door model, i can not speak for other models but this one manufactured 7-2007 uses a normal pinout.
