hiya all well ive been doing diagnostics on a small scale for a while now and have wanted to move onto mileage correction for a while, i struck up a deal with a chap selling an original on ebay and went for a hell of a long drive to buy it yesterday, looking at the folder of instrucxtions everythind does seem self explanitary i have tried a couple straight diagnostics and worked a treat so im happy
couple Qs though
basicly im reading the manual throughout to try to familiarise myself with the methods etc, it mentions on quite a few cars to join the contacts on the crystals on the board, any advice on spotting these and whats the best way to join?
ok so some cars are programmed in different methods, but what if you have say a astra or galaxy thats normally a diagnostic but you only have the clocks, what methods would i use? i only ask as somethimes i will have to correct just a dash and wont be given the whole car, im concerened as i know if you use the wrong clip on eeprom etc you can destroy it
my other problem is i tried my e36 bmw, diagnostic pulled up nothing it just said working for ages, so i thought id try the e36 cluster plugs, however a little concerned looking at the plugs theres no real info on which way round to put them or which plug gos into which sockt, i did notic the plugs were marked to show the right way up or down, whichever i dont know?
i didnt want to just randomly plug it in as i dont want to corrupt or destroy anything, the dash on my car has the chip that plugs into the back of the clocks.
what soldering iron would you guys recomend? as i say new to this reading the manual a lot of cars ie fords were you use the scorpio plug etc are they solder too or do you just attatch to the solder joint some how?
with thanks
lee

lee , if you have a problem you should contact the dash fixer help line mate. on the e36 you will see you have 3 ends to the plug ,try both . if its sw 24 then follow instruction in the black book or use the great df forum.
good luck mate.

| Dashfixer, If you are bored with all this I feel obliged to stir you back into action. For a start , why don't you answer my questions? What about updating your website completely? It still spouts about what was going on in 2006. OK since then for two years you have had not much worth writing about except coming soon, nearly ready. Nows the time to be letting the world know what can be done with your Dashfixer pro. It would be interesting to see a list of the two hundred vehicles that have been added. Come on tempt us all into a re-think about buying into the future with your tool because at the moment Dashfixer pro is not at the top of an awful lot of peoples wish list and in fact features lower on their lists than Digapro. White Rabbit. |

Thats fair comment white rabbit, I guess I need to get back to my desk sooner or later and revive the website, the problem is I'm more interested in keeping the present customers happy than I am with getting new customers at the moment.
However I will update the site in the coming weeks, and I think rather than doubting the machine you should try it, there's plenty of them out there already, I'm pretty sure even though you dont want to say it you know someone with a Dashfixer Pro, so go have a look, think you'll be surprised.
Keep watching my site, I'll get round to it, however it will be on the forum first. |
