The key stores anti-theft/immobilizer related info, the VIN # as well as the mileage. If the cluster and the EWS (immobilizer) are corrected to the same mileage then the next time you start the car your key will be updated with the new value. There's also another place where the mileage is stored: the Light Control Module (=light switch). it must be corrected as well. Serge
