It causes the tach and speedometer to short out. So I purchased a cluster from a salvage yard and it is reading out the mileage from the other car so how do I put it back to my mileage?

You need a special programmer to alter or change the content of the chip that stored the mileage. If you're not read y to spend a few thousands then better send your cluster to one of us. Where are you located? Serge
