Hi,

i want to buy a digital odometer reprogramming tool, but I`m not sure if this is legal in Croatia. Can someone clear me up. I'd appreciate it if someone can send me information.

Hello Marco,

as far as I know mileage correction is not illegal in Croatia. But of course what is illegal is to misrepresent a vehicles mileage to add to its value, aswell as the obvious reason to have this done there are several other reasons too.

Legal Information
Adjusting a car odometer readings is not a criminal offence; however selling a vehicle with the intention to defraud contravenes the Trade Descriptions Act.
It is unlawful to reset odometers with less than the true mileage of the motor vehicle.
It is solely the clients responsibility to seek legal advice about compliance within the terms of the law.
It is a pre-condition to the acceptance of the firm's services that the client has no intentions to commit an offence.
