when programming a VW golf year 2000, with the diga-consult with a version date may 17 2002, it was taking so long, ( 24% after 2 hours) that i decided to programme directly to the chip for speed.
however after programming and fitting, i found that the speedo would not work, this is because the spindle came out of the motor while removing the needle. is there a way to ensure that the needle comes away saftley or is there a fix for this problem, or is my hand held too out of date.
although my customer never knew, the expence did hurt me. so i would appreciate the solution if anyone can spare the time
many thanks
jimmy

i found the answer to my needle problem.
just incase the info is of any use to others
just un-solder the motor of the offending guage from the cluster,
split the motor, push the spindle back into the top part through the small gear a little too far, so that the bottom of the housing will push it back up when put together, make sure that the 2 coils and the small gear are snug against the top part of the motor and then line the spindle up with the hole in the metal plate in the bottom part of the motor, gently press the two halves back together,re solder to cluster main board put the lot together again but when you replace the needle for this perticular guage just lift it slightly so that the spindle does not rub on the bottom of the motor housing
