Andy Moderator Joined: 19 Aug 2004 Posts: 113	Posted: Thu Sep 02, 2004 11:50 am    Post subject: BMW light reset service for BMW E46 and BMW E52 Reset procedure for BMW clusters with SIA IV using the reset mode (possible from 9/99 for E46 and E52). Ignition key must be off. Press and hold the trip odometer button in the instrument cluster (left button) and turn the ignition key to the first position. Keep the button pressed for approx. 5 seconds until one of the following words appear in the display: "Oil Change" or "Inspection" with "Reset". Release the reset button and press and hold again the "Reset " begins to flash. While the display is flashing, press the left button briefly to reset the service interval. After the display has shown the new interval, the following will appear: "End SIA". The system can only be reset again after 2.5 gal (10 liters) of fuel have been consumed.

scarface_34 New member Joined: 23 Oct 2005 Posts: 1	Posted: Sun Oct 23, 2005 10:39 am    Post subject: : BMW light reset service for BMW E46 and BMW E52 hello i have an E46 03 and have tried to reset the oil inspection light , however when i follow the procedure , the only things that seems to reset is the brake fluid etc light e.g after following the procedure everything seems fine , after pressing the left hand button and the reset oil service light stops flashing it says END , but then it says 10/07 which refers to the brake fulid change any assistance on this would be appreciated

DashfixDotNet Moderator Joined: 20 Nov 2004 Posts: 297 Location: USA	Posted: Mon Oct 31, 2005 8:30 am    Post subject: : BMW light reset service for BMW E46 and BMW E52 As mentioned in the procedure (by Andy) you have to press briefly until it says "End SIA" not "End" only. When the RESET word starts blinking and you press rapidly the button, the first thing that appears within a second is "End" (and it's for oil service only) but if you keep on pressing briefly or rapidly the button for 10 more seconds it will show "End SIA". If you don't get this after strictly following the procedure then I assume your cluster has a internal software problem. Serge
