JLMann82 Guest	Posted: Wed May 25, 2005 5:28 pm    Post subject: Key programming for e39 remote/key? I just recently bought a new key/remote from the dealership for my 98 540. I was told that they used to be able to do differ options w/ the remote such as roll the windows down and such. Does anyone have any instructions on how to program any of these options into the remote? Thanks!

Hello, The key prferences memory can only be programmed successfully with the original delear tool (GT1), like stearing wheel, mirror, and seat position for example. But I'm not sure that can get all the wondows roll up or down just by pressing a button on your key. The only way for that function is to insert the key into the driver's lock and turn all the way to left and hold it for a few seconds for rolling them down and to the right for rolling them up. Serge
