I have the DIGA unit and want to know how to program a 1997 528i.
Is it through the plug under the hood or eeprom? Thanks. |

Is the cluster a low or high version? Means one or two push buttons? And also what's the SW (software) and HW (hardware) version?

Benji,
You cannot just guess "through the hood"! If it's a SW13 without Ike, how do you do it through the hood?! I've even seen a couple of M35080 equipped dashboards on 97 and 98 models. So it's always better to proceed by elimination and do a clean job than to hurry and give a potential wrong advice to the guy

Yes Serge you are right first look if it has 1 or 2 buttons my misstake.
But if you have seen the M35080 in a 97/98 modell they must have replaced the cluster t a new modell du to some problems.? or did they put that in that early.?
can you help me with the Z4.? |

Perhaps they've been replaced but I know at least one guy who bought it brand new ('9 and never replaced the dash and it's a M35080 that we have inside...very strange, isn't it? |

Okay. I pushed on the button and turn on the ignition key. It reads
HW 16 SW1400/1400 |

You can also connect the Diga to the car's diagnostic plug (round one in this case) and run KM-Check. The HW/SW version of the cluster or so-called "tacho" will be displayed. Anyway, if you're sure it's a SW14, then there's no doubt it's a M35080 eeprom just as I told you in the beginning.
