Vauxhall/Opel Combo 1.3 Cdti

Postby purtieus » Sat Jan 03, 2009 11:25 pm

Please could you advise how to use the TACHO PRO UNIVERSAL V2008 DIGA DASH to repair the odometer on a Vauxhall Combo 1.3 Cdti model year 2006. I have followed the intructions using the Opel OBD cable and selected the vehicle on the menu. The device reads "working" for some time and then displays "!!Press!!" but it does not tell me what to press or for how long.

Also I have been told that the fuse needs to be removed or the battery needs to be disconnected. Which of these is correct and at what point in the procedure do either remove the fuse or disconnect the battery.

Your earliest response will be very much appreciated. Thank you.

hello portiues,
about this topic, is just talk a few posts ago.
and if you read, you see that you must make a cable to this car or remove cluster.
but you must see the old value before they say working.
my advise to you is to read and search on forum before you ask because some times ( in this case ) is all explain, step by step.
cheers

Hi BannyBasher. Well I have just followed your advice and I am very disappointed to report that it did not work.

I held the trip down for 108 seconds before the Tach Pro Universal returned to the menu screen. I then removed the fuse for the cluster which is a 7.5 amp and is fuse number 3, the headlamps came on as described but the display is still reading the same.

I must be missing something because I know for a fact that this can be done using this equipment through the OBD port. It is a shame that the manufacturers instructions are so very poor. If you can make any other suggestions for me it will be greatly appreciated.

On later versions removing the fuse will not reset the cluster, remove a battery lead instead.

I have tried and tried on 2 seperate vehicles (both the same model) all to no avail, so now I will remove the battery lead. Watch this space.

Well I think that I am about done with this now. I have tried and retried on two different Combos. I have removed the fuse and disconnected the battery all to no avail. Is it possible that the piece of kit that I am using is in fact a bogus copy of something good or is it just me being completely stupid. Please help deperation is now setting in.
