Audi A6 2004

Postby Peda » Wed Dec 24, 2008 3:15 pm

Hello everybody!
I need a little bit of help!

I tried to do audi a6 20004 today but nothing! On the cluster says its JAEGER but on the board it says its Magnetti Marelli, i tried to do by obd on AUDI MM DIAG and it just says WORKING, i tried to do by AUDI AUTODETECT and it finds cluster and it says its magnetti marelli, put in new mileage and old mileage but nothing, i tried with audi2000 cables, it shows old value and i write in new value, take of fuse for 10 minutes and 30 minutes but nothing changes!!

Somebody who can help me! Is there some difference if i take out the fuse or if i take of battery cable?

Regards Peda

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Hello,
If it's a real 2004 you're probably dealing with the new model (that's the transition year) and therefore with a CAN based car! Plug the CAN box on the top of your unit and use the VW CAN cable. Then go to A6 Magnetti Marelli menu and see if it works. First try that, if it doesn't work go to the "Autodectect CAN" menu.
Disregard all this if the vehicle is an older model (such as this one: http://www.edmunds.com/audi/a6/2003/index.html) .

Hello,
Then screw it, take it further apart and do it manually. If it's magnetti-marelli it should have a 912DG128 inside. If you can't figure the codes out, email it to me with the exact old and new value and I'll correct it for you.

I did A4 2004 many times, Magneti Marelli, don't choose autodetect with this car (doesn't work like you noticed), choose Audi, A6, Magneti Marelli 07-01/'04, Diga ask for old km, fill in, then new value ok, it takes some time but it works.
Maybe to late for now but try it next time.
BR,

Peter

Good luck

What do you meen here, i tried to do here with OBD and choose as you wrote but it only stand KM OUT RANGE or something like that but when i choose autodetect i can write new and old value but still nothing, even if i take the fuse out for 10 minutes!

Hello Peda.

Program it with CAN dongel & CANOBD cable

In diga menu choose >Audi >A6 Magneti Marelli > 04.-

In manual for A6 2004 Magnetti M it says in german:
Nach der Programmierung muss das Fahrzeug noch 86km fahren, bis der
neue Stand fest übernommen wird. Vorher erscheint im Fall einer
Spannungsunterbrechung wieder der alte Stand!
