Hi! I am new in here!
So i would like to know about one thing. I went to do a checkup on a BMW dealer with an used vehicle from BMW, an E39 BMW, and there they made a kilometer check to see if there werent any kind of strange thing, you know...
Well they made a test with car keys and it gave different kilometers than car components, i mean car keys and car equipments gave different kms figures, carkeys gave something like 900.000 kms which was obviously wrong....but here is what i would like to understand....
Carkeys kms test is fine or not to know if there was any kms correction ??? |

what do you mean about this?
900 km or 900,000 km?
if your key has a difference of approx 100 km from other module in car, then there is no problem about that
and if your spare key has lower than the used key or other module
it is normal, because maybe the spare key doesnt use in a car
but if your key value is higher than other module,
there was a problem, your mileage maybe altered _________________

I think there is something wrong with the tools they have use or in your key
Its obviuosly wrong the value of your key for 900000 and no one can believe this value _________________

Hello,
BMW key readers (blue color device and made by Siemens) can only read blade keys with colored bmw logos in the middle and the remote type keys (late model bimmers). If your keys look the same as that of the Range Rovers (full body) or those used in the late 90's by BMW, those cannot be read anymore by those new key readers and therefore you can get a wrong reading. Another possibility is that you keys have been "erased". Actually the procedure is to set the EWS (immobilizer) to a very high number such as 900000 kms and then at the first key cycle the memory (crazy high mileage) is transferred to the key. I don't know the year of production of your E39 but I will opt for the second explanation. Definitely, someone played with this car with that old fashioned technique.
