I have just received my Tacho Universal. Made in China. Came with the BMW key reader then looks like is the 07 model as advertised. I have checked the Manual CD disc and no instruction for Touareg at all !!!. Is that possible this device is not the 2007 update. How to check it? Can somebody provide the detailed procedure for 04 VW Touareg please.

Close the doors.

Use the VW Sharan 2000 OBD Plug.
Chose in your Diga menü: Volkswagen - Autodetect

(Dont use "Autodetect CAN")

After login your Diga shows the old value.
Enter the new value - OK.

Keep the doors closed !
Chose in your Diaga menü: Volkswagen - Touareg - Service
Enter in Chanel 2: 0000
Enter in Chanel 40: (the value since the last Service/100)

Chose in your Diga menü: Volkswagen - 1551
Erase all errors.

I have heard from so many people Touareg is done by the eprom???
Even if you go to the menu on the Diga the device is asking you to connect the eprom clip.

yes, if you have time to waste, you can do it also via clip.

remove the cluster and open it.

look for the eeprom 24C08

look for the silver chrystal and join its contacts
(very important in this case!!!)

connect clip to port 3

put the clip on 24C08 (red on pin 1)

select in your Diga menu: Volkswagen - Touareg - V1
your Diga shows you the old value - if its wrong try it with - ...-V 2

Select the menu Adjust KM.

Enter the new value.

Verify the new value with OK.

Have you ever done it with the Diag connection ?
I have tried the 2000 sharan connection as advised by you. No succed.
Waited maybe 2 min and then showed up bunch of useless letters.

Ever.

Turn ignition on

do it as described.

Turn ignition off.

If it is not changed -
remove the fuse of the cluster or remove the battery cable
for a few seconds.

I have tried so many times. as described. In channel 2 I`m able to put only one 0. Can`t put more 0 unless at the beginning is other digit like 1,2,3,4,5 etc.
I tried put 1 alone 0 alone and any other 4 digit combination in all channels. then press OK- says Working then comes back to the menu with channel. Then I check once again and with the channel is the old value
-18760
If I go to the dealer like that they will find out the mileage was rolled?

I`m from USA. Instrument Cluster is coded to do no Interval service. In order to get access to those channels I had to recode the cluster to the European specifications I have changed third digit from the end from 3 to 1 .
3- means no service interval
1- Service interval on.
after I changed this I do have access to all channels related to the Service
02
040 up to 046

I have another question regarding channel 40
adapted value is 30 which is OK
actual value is 145560

I`m little worry about this actual value
looks like is 145560 km

any suggestions ?

In channel 40 you have few lines of data.
the first one is the old value
second line is the actual data which is 145560
and in third line is the adapted data .

I don`t known what`s the actual data line ???
