Hello Folks:

I have located couple of items on ebay:

M35080 Programmer (about $100)
P A Soft 1.3.5 and related hardware (about $100)

I am planning to purchase these but kinda worried because seller does'nt seem to know anything about them but claims that they will do the job.

After researching for past week, I have noticed various other equipment/software such as Digi etc., but they sure seem to priced extremely high and out of my reach.

I am planning to perform a e46 M3 cluster swap on a non M which are both 2004 (build date Sept 03) which will require mileage correction as right now I have the manipulation dot next to the mileage display in the dash.

Will this equipment be enough to perform the task at hand? If so, should I expect any significant problems using the above mentioned, quite possibly what you guys call "Cloned" equipment?

I have seen plenty of discussion on this forum and understand that some members seem to despise them while others who can't afford the so called "real deal" and for us home mechanics they might work.

So what I am wondering is that given I dont work on any other except my 04 e46 will this be enough? Any gotchas etc. that I should keep in mind and give up on this dream?

Thanks everyone.

PA Soft BMW Scanner 1.3.6

OR

Thanks.

I replace cluster on my 03 530i, i used what you mentioned both m35080 and pasoft worked great. But...

- m35080 software is in chinese/asian i had the hardest time to get it to work.
- pasoft will code the vin, but even though i used same car cluster my DSC light comes on after i drive 20-30 feet, from what i research so far is due to Streering column Sensor fck up. PA soft had LEW adaptation im planning on playing with that this weekend.

My ADVICE to YOU
Your car is a bmw not a CIVIC, you cant throw in random parts and expectem to work.

spend your money on the right hardware. df2 for example.

you have to have lots and lots of experience before you can use a clone.

if you mess about the clusters , it can cause lots of problems for you.

But cheap get cheap.
easy to under stand.
