Hello everybody
I've got a problem with a safrane.
I remove the cluster and open it and find the eeprom 93C46.
I try to do it directly with the clip and adapter 93CX6 but nothing.
Then I disolder the eeprom and put it in the clip and try again but no answer.
I put the clip in port 1. And I try in the port 0 and port 2 too but nothing.
I choose the 3 menus: safrane C46V1 safrane C46V2 and safrance mod99
Maybe I forgot something? When I try I get this message :"General failure by reading."
Of course I verify that the Red pin is in 1 (according to what is it written on the eeprom) and on the adapter the red pin is on the left side.
But nothing
If somebody can help me I will be glad.
Thank you a lot |

Stick the chip back in to see if the mileage is still there on the lcd
as you may have lost the data.
I cant see why you cant get any data with chip off the pcb.
good luck |

so the data can gone...? without doing anything?
I just disolder the eeprom and try to read, nothing else.
I thought that normally if there is no data in the eeprom(if they gone....lol)
I will not find this type of error message.
This message just say that there is no connection and the Diga don't find the eeprom...
Tommorow I resolder it and see
Thank you |

reload a data set, let me know if you need one , i have 100s of datasets.
no problem, but best to put all back and see.
i had trouble last week with a motorbike, lost all the data becase with arsefixer or clone you have to bridge osc, with dp3 there is no need .
every eeprom is easy to destory. be carfull , and make sure you save data. |

OK bannybasher, thank you so much.
First thing tommorow I will put it back and see what's happen.
If I need to reload a data I will ask you here (thank you) or if you want you can send it to me here kame_62@hotmail.com
I don't bridge osc when I try with the clip directly, and when I see that there is no connection I dissolder the eeprom to read it.
Perhaps when I try directly and don't bridge osc I destroy it....
Of course first thing to do is to save data
Thank you |

Have you thought of another hobby?
If you delay, waiting for answers to a question that could be solved in 5 minutes!
Try eeprom back on board, all may be ok.
You didnt say what kind of device you use to read eeprom, I suppose its a chinese clone diga.
Ever thought that the equipment may be just shite?
Has it occured to youto try and read another beeprom to see if its your device? |

I never thought of another hobby....and you?
Some people can solve questions in 5 minutes, and others no... that's why they go to ask in a forum...this is normal.
I put back he eeprom and there is nothing, data was deleted.
Could the data be deleted because I remove the eeprom with a rework station and the chip was very hot....
I use Diga like most of people and I said it before....don't suppose it a chinese clone diga!
It read all eeproms normally before this one.
After I will try with another one.
Thank you everybody. |
