How can I adjust the milage for Golf 5 2005? I have DIGA-Consult. but there is no golf 5 in the manual. In the DIGA-Consult there is golf 5 by Diagnose and clip.
I tryed to do it by OBDII but I could't. although I was able to adjust milage for Bora and Passat 2003 by ODBII.
I even removed the cluster but I couldn't take of the back cover of it, I was afraid to brake it!!!!
Please help

Use the CAN-Dongle and the CAN-OBDII plug.
Select in your Diga: Volklswagen - Autodetect CAN
enter new mileage
after finish, use CAN 1551 to clear the ECU memory
Menue: Volkswagen - CAN 1551
(dont switch ignition on or off while can-dongle is connectet)
correct the service. (Menue: Volkswagen - service CAN) |

Can you send me the whole manual in English. I need that very much.
I don't have Can Hardware. only VW CAN.
I have something called Can Bus is it the same? |

i dont have english ones.
try here:

attention: file size 375 MB !
you need a CAN-dongle and VW-CAN plug (OBDII).
Not the usual OBDII plug.
The CAN dongle should be a universal one.
Also needet for Mercedes, for example W211/ 209.
So your "CAN Hardware" is maybe the right one!
Look at the pictures from the German manual i attached in
the post before.
choose in your DIGA menue:
Volkswagen - Autodetect CAN
(The dongle fits into the Diga -
the VW-CAN calbe fits into the Dongle,
the OBD-plug in the car.)
you only have to enter the new mileage !
Try it. Nothing will be damaged - if it could't change.
Where is your DIGA from ? |

If you want to remove the cluster an clip the eeprom,
the instruction how to do is attached ! |

Hi,
Thank you for your help.
I don't have problem with Passat and Bora 4 1999 to 2004 and I didn't use CAN-Dongle only DIGA-Consult and Audi A6 Alt Cable . I didn't try it with Golf 4 but I think it is the same way. I was able to change it with my DIGA-Consult 2007 I broght from China and I think it is clone but it does the job.
For Golf 5 I couldn't do it with the same way. I tryed the cable OBDII, Audi A6 Alt, and the VW Can Cable coming with the DIGA-Consult.
I didn't find Can dongle in the kit coming with DIGA-Consult. I found Can Bus only is it the same? |

By the way
1- I have VW Can Plug (OBDII Cable)
2- I have Can bus (It is like adapter between DIGA-Consult and OBDII) |

Problem is...you dont know if the can bus dongle is any good!
Try it on another canbus car and see if it works. |

I haven't tryed this can bus on golf 5 yet.
I will try it and let you know.

I tryed it. First I switched on the igntion, the in Diga menue I chose Volkswagen_Autodetect can
I had on Diga screen Logon and waited for three minutes but nothing happened
I tryed again but didn't switch on the ignition the cluster opened for 2 seconeds the I had error message on my DIGA-Consult |

this is the right dongle.
Turn ignition on.
Connect the diga with the car
(diga - dongle - vw can calbe)
choose Volkswagen - autodetect can
wait - diga will detect the right one and you can enter the new mileage.

| those can dongles are crap i have tried 3 none worked i use the white from my original box. |
