Hello,
I need to correct the mileage on a 2001 E39 525i and am not sure what exactly I require to do this. I have a couple of questions so hopefully someone can help.
1) I need to know what chip a 2001 E39 525i has. Does it have the M35080 or the 93S56/93S66 chip? How can I find out?
2) Am I correct in saying the mileage is also stored in the LCM, IKE and EWS modules?
3) If I have a M35080 and use a M35080 programmer to correct the mileage, will PA Soft 1.36 adjust the mileage stored in the LCM, IKE and EWS?
I look forward to a response.

If you have Pasoft, the soft will tell you what is inside the cluster. If 93s56/66
then you'll be able to correct trough diagnostic.
You can do LCM with Pasoft but not EWS. ESW has HC11EA9, and you'll need to program the proc in circuit.
IKE = Instrument cluster |

Thanks for the response Toniz.
I offer various other services in my business such as diagnostics, service, oil, airbag reset etc. but am looking to also offer a mileage correction service.
So without something to program the HC11EA9 I cannot correct the mileage properly? Where can I get a tool/program to do this? Unfortunately at the moment, DIGA-Consult is out of my price range. |

You can use UPA-USB from www.elrasoft.com to correct mileage on EWS
Maybe this can avail your budget
Here is the connection if you will use UPA-USB

That's great, thank you for the information. It certainly is a much more affordable option, be it more advanced.
Thanks again. |
