s500 Guest	Posted: Mon Sep 27, 2004 8:00 pm    Post subject: mileage hello my instrument cluster is not working is the milage info stored any where else in the car? such as the engine computer or obd? do i have to remove the cluster in order to re program it? thanks for any info.

From your name i thought you have a Mercedes S-Class 500, right? From 03/2001 the S-Class (W220) has stored the mileage in the cluster and in the key module! You have to remove the cluster and the key module to program it. The W220 before 03/2001 only in the cluster, also remove the cluster, the older W140 is adjustable via diagnostic interface without removing. Regards, Marc
